Arsenal have been the best team in the Premier League for most of the 2025-26 season. After two consecutive second-place finishes, Mikel Arteta's side is determined to finally get over the line. Here is how their season has unfolded.

The defense

Arsenal's defense has been the foundation of their title challenge. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes form the best center-back partnership in the league, conceding just 22 goals in 28 matches. Their aerial dominance from set pieces is a weapon — Arsenal have scored 18 goals from set pieces, the most in the Premier League. Ben White and Jurrien Timber provide quality at full-back.

Saka — The star

Bukayo Saka has been Arsenal's best player with 14 goals and 11 assists. He is the most creative player in the league, consistently producing moments of magic from the right wing. His ability to beat defenders, deliver crosses, and score from distance makes him virtually unplayable on his day. At 24, Saka is entering his prime.

The midfield evolution

Declan Rice has been outstanding in his second season, controlling the midfield with his passing and physicality. Martin Odegaard's creativity from the number 10 position has been key, and Kai Havertz has found his best form as a false nine, contributing 12 goals and 6 assists.

Can they win it?

Arsenal have the best defense, the best set-piece game, and the most consistent form. Their weakness is a lack of a 20-goal striker — Havertz is effective but not prolific. If Arsenal can maintain their defensive standards and Saka stays fit, they have the best chance of winning the title. After years of building, this feels like Arsenal's year.
